Brown goats cheese, or ‘brimost’, white goats cheese and salted goats cheese are the traditional products of the area and represent the main products from Skjerdal Stølsysteri and Cafè.
During the summer season Anne Karin, the founder and heart behind Skjerdal Stølsysteri, makes a number of different products with the fresh goats milk. Yoghurt, fresh cheese and white mold cheese are some of the delicious fresh products that are made at the small dairy farm.
Brimost from Sogn
The brown cheese is boiled from ‘myse’, the leftover product after making the white goats cheese. This was for a long time the main product at the mountain farms. Brimost is perfect on fresh bread, waffles and pancakes.
